IBM Software Universe 2007

IBM Software Universe 2007, was held on 30 and 31st of October 2007, in Renaissance, Mumbai, India.
Initial part of the day was full of keynotes by IBM representatives, Kim Chan (Blue Ocean Strategy) Economists, Scientists & Indian successful Businessman.

Backpack laptop bag was gifted on first day registration. This had colorful program guide and notebook to take notes with one piere cardin pen. This also had one DVD with IBM whitepapers and demos.

They came out with innovative bar code based registration batch everyone was suppose to wear. Using this they could track who attends what session.

There were 7 tracks first day and 6 tracks second day with 4 sessions in each track each day.

Overall message IBM gave:

• IBM is your only partner who understand how to take innovative business model to realization of profits
• IBM has got products and tools to support SOA Development.
• IBM has solutions on Web 2.0 front to develop more participating applications
• Portal server is the way to develop modular pluggable applications.
• IBM has industry specific experience and solutions, where pool of specialists were available to answer questions.

For every question asked in tracks person asking question got the IBM dollars, which you can redeem for merchandise.

There was Rubik's cube gifted on first day while returning feedback form. whoever brings this solved next day gets two IBM dollars.

This way I could collect 8 IBM dollars at the end of second day.

There was lot of mismanagement on event boys hired. They didn't had etiquettes to deal with people visiting place like Renaissance.

Unfortunately these boys distributed the merchandise as per their wish and exchange rate. Some people could grab T-shirts, caps, clocks, watches or thermos for each dollar. Others could hardly get a one clock for 8 IBM dollars.
